COPPERAS COVE, Texas — A significant road closure has been lifted Thursday morning in Copperas Cove following a major accident that occurred Wednesday, Aug. 27.

The Copperas Cove Police Department announced that the bypass from South FM 116 to Old Copperas Cove Road is now reopened in both directions.

Police thank drivers and those of the community for the patience in taking alternate routes while crews addressed the situation.

The department has not released any additional details about what lead up to the accident, number of vehicles involved or whether there were any injuries.
