Boston officials will release findings today of an independent review into the city's school transportation safety policies that was initiated following the tragic death of a kindergartener who was hit by his school bus in Hyde Park in April.

Mayor Michelle Wu and Superintendent Mary Skipper will hold a press conference at 10 a.m. to discuss what was discovered by the investigation, conducted by Mintz attorney Natashia Tidwell, a former federal prosecutor and police officer.

Tidwell was hired by the city to look at all the safety policies and performances of Transdev, the international transportation company that has contracted with Boston Public Schools to provide transportation services since 2013.
