SUMNER COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) - Flooding in Sumner County has closed the northbound Kansas Turnpike near Wellington and U.S. 81 west of Belle Plaine.

The National Weather Service says there is a report of water on I-35 between mile markers 19 and 21. That's just north of the Wellington exit. Drivers are being diverted onto U.S. 160, heading into Wellington and then back north to U.S. 81.
