On Wednesday, House Speaker Nathaniel Ledbetter, R-Rainsville, appointed Representative Troy Stubbs, R-Wetumpka, to vice chairman of the House Committee on County and Municipal Government. The position was previously held by Debbie Wood, who resigned from the Legislature in July.

“Rep. Stubbs has served on the House Committee on County and Municipal Government for the last several years, and his previous experience on the Elmore County Commission makes him the obvious choice to step into the role of vice chairman,” Ledbetter said. “The work of this committee directly impacts the success of Alabama’s local governments, and I have full confidence that Rep. Stubbs will continue to fight for commonsense conservative policies that help counties and municipalities better serve citizens.”
