British Transport Police are searching for an Edinburgh passenger following an incident onboard a train to Montrose.

Officers have issued a picture of a man as they carry out inquiries into an incident onboard the service on Friday, April 25.

It took place between or just beyond Dundee station between 2.30pm and 6pm on the service terminating at Aberdeen. Officers have not disclosed the nature of the incident.

The man is described as white in his late 40s or early 50s, slim build and around 5ft7 with long greying-blond hair tied in a ponytail. He is believed to have alighted the train at Montrose.

He was wearing a light grey baseball cap, a dark coloured jacket over a grey jumper, black jeans and light boots. He was also carrying a large white suitcase and a dark backpack.
