A shift in weather patterns will bring cooler temperatures and increasing cloud cover to the Lehigh Valley on Thursday, with a slight possibility of scattered showers overnight into Friday morning.

Temperatures will struggle to reach 80 degrees, staying on the cooler side for late August.

The National Weather Service forecast indicates a cold front approaching from the west will bring southwest winds 5-10 mph occasionally gusting to 20 mph. While most of the Lehigh Valley and Poconos will remain dry, northwestern zones have a slight chance of experiencing light showers overnight. Temperatures will drop to the mid to upper 50s in the Lehigh Valley and Poconos regions.
