FAIRCHANCE, Pa. — A Morgantown man has been charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
Stephen Lemro, 74, of Morgantown, is accused of hitting Paula Silvis, 70, at the intersection of West Church and Morgantown Streets in Fairchance Wednesday.
Authorities said Lemro fled the scene, then returned and was taken into custody by police.
Lifesaving measures were attempted at the scene by witnesses and first responders but Silvis died later at a local hospital.
Lemro has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, accident involving death, fleeing and reckless driving. He’s in jail on a $100,000 bond.
Lemro is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 10 at 10 a.m.
