YouTube TV and Fox have reached a “short-term extension” that will keep Fox content — including Saturday’s Utah vs. UCLA game — on the streaming platform.
“We are committed to advocating on behalf of our subscribers as we work toward a fair deal and will keep you updated on our progress,” YouTube said in a blog post Wednesday, just before the deadline for an agreement.
While it’s not clear how long the extension will last, the move has come after FCC chairman Brendan Carr asked Google to come to a deal with Fox in order to “keep watching the news and sports they want — including this week’s Big Game: Texas at Ohio State." That game takes place at 10 a.m. MT Saturday on Fox. Utah vs. UCLA airs on the station at 9 p.m. MT.
