Connell Maynor is back in Forsyth County.

The former head coach of Winston-Salem State is working across town on Coach Jake Dickert’s staff as an offensive analyst at Wake Forest.

Maynor, who was the coach of the Rams from 2010 through 2013, guided the Rams to the 2012 Division II national championship game and a 14-1 record.

After leaving Winston-Salem State for Hampton as its head coach, Maynor landed at Alabama A&M. He was fired after last season.

“It’s working out well, and I like being close to home,” said Maynor who since coaching at Winston-Salem Stat has continued to live in Kernersville with his wife, Meryl. “It’s been a while since I’ve been in Winston full time, and I’m enjoying this opportunity.”

Maynor, 56, is a former NC A&T and Winston-Salem State quarterback
