The Library of Congress has announced the winner of its coveted annual prize.

Geraldine Brooks , an Australian-American bestselling author and journalist, will be awarded the the 2025 Library of Congress Prize for American Fiction at the upcoming National Book Festival, the institution stated in a press release. Brooks has written bestselling novels People of the Book , Caleb's Crossing and most recently, Memorial Days .
