JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) -- A woman charged in the fatal stabbing of her boyfriend on New Year's Eve has died in the Jefferson County Jail.
Zingy Denise Gamble, 60, was found unresponsive by cellmates around 7:15 a.m. Wednesday and was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. The county coroner's office stated there were no signs of trauma or foul play in Gamble's death, and a cause of death is pending an autopsy.
Gamble was being held at the jail after being charged in the stabbing death of Earnest Paul Christion Jr. Birmingham police said Gamble and Christion were in a relationship at the time and the stabbing possibly stemmed from a dispute over money.
Additionally, Gamble's son, La Verne Gamble, was charged with first degree hindering prosecution in connection to the stabbing.
