AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Meteorological fall begins September 1 as we wrap up officially summer on the final day of August. The Climate Prediction Center released their three-month seasonal outlook and it calls for the drier-than-normal pattern that most of us felt in August to continue in the autumn.
The outlook for fall is a return to a warmer and drier pattern here in Central Texas.
We won't be the only ones experiencing a warmer than normal fall. Across most of the lower 48 states, fall is expected to be warmer-than-normal for the season.
The rainfall forecast has more variety with drier than normal conditions expected surrounding the Four Corners region and through much of Texas and east into portions of Tennessee. Wetter than normal weather is expected in the southeast and northwest.
