According to Liberty coach Sandy Brondello, All-Star forward Breanna Stewart doesn’t think she needs to ease her way back into the lineup after sitting out a month due to a knee injury.
“She’s just got this relentlessness about her that can rub off on her teammates. She’s got the highest motor I’ve ever seen in a player,” Brondello said. “She’s not going to be happy with this (minutes limit).”
The limit was 20 minutes for Stewart’s much-anticipated comeback from a bone bruise that kept her benched from Aug. 26 until Monday night, when she scored a team-high 19 points in New York’s 81-79 win over Connecticut.
