The next stop on the Detroit Free Press/Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers Top 10 Takeover dinner series is at La Fonda Street , the small restaurant serving big Latino flavors in Detroit’s West Village.

On Sept. 17, ticketholders will have an opportunity to taste dishes inspired by cultures throughout Latin America, from Mexico and Venezuela to Brazil and Cuba. Try Venezuelan cachapas, or sweet corn cakes, and tender pieces of ropa vieja .

La Fonda Street landed at No. 4 on the 2025 list of Top 10 New Restaurants and Dining Experiences for its homey meals prepared out of a former Detroit home. With just 16 seats in the space and comforting dishes on the menu, the upcoming dinner will feel something like gathering at the dinner table with family and friends.
