According to police, a mother found a handgun on her 16-year-old son's bed when she went to wake him up.
Police say the pair fought over the gun. The teenager allegedly told his mother if she didn't give him the gun back, he'd be dead.
When she refused, she told police the teen picked up his backpack and left the home.
A massive search was launched which included multiple agencies, a drone and three police dogs.
During their search, detectives learned the juvenile would frequently visit a home along Soose Road in Shaler Township.
