MORNING HEADLINES | Five rescued Kemp’s ridley sea turtles – Seashore Mallow, Sunflower, Marigold, Hyacinth and Sweet Caroline – dove into the ocean Wednesday during a special event attended by about 200 people.

The South Carolina Aquarium released turtles after nursing them back to health following rescues from being snagged on hooks earlier this year.

Aquarium officials taking care of them say they develop a special connection with rehabilitating turtles. Ashley Wright, a sea turtle biologist at the aquarium, highlighted the connection that members of staff have with the turtles.
