An 18-year-old motorcyclist died Wednesday after crashing into another vehicle on a Rogers County road.
Joseph G. Bethea of Claremore was westbound on County Road 450 around 6:45 p.m. Aug. 27 , according to a preliminary crash report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Troopers said Bethea was traveling at a high rate of speed behind a 2013 Nissan Quest that was also westbound. Bethea's Yamaha YZF-R6 struck the minivan and crashed near East Russell Drive north of Claremore, the report states.
Bethea died as a result of injuries from the crash. The other driver, who was wearing a seat belt, was injured in the crash; there were no other occupants in the minivan, the report states.
