BAY CITY, MI — A Saginaw man is to spend the next few years in a federal prison for having an illegal machine gun. On the state level, he remains charged with using that gun to shoot two local teens.
U.S. District Judge Thomas L. Ludington on Aug. 21 sentenced 26-year-old Christopher P. Ramirez to 62 months, or a little more than five years, in prison. Once Ramirez has served his sentence, he’s to be on supervised release for an additional three years.
Ludington recommended Ramirez be incarcerated at Federal Correctional Institution Milan in Washtenaw County.
Ramirez in April pleaded guilty to possessing a machine gun, a 10-year felony. He remains charged in Saginaw County Circuit Court with two counts of assault with intent to murder, four counts of felony firearm, and single counts of
