HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - On this date in 1952, a three-day celebration began of the construction of the Historic Philippi Covered Bridge in Philippi, WV.

The bridge was just turning 100 years old.

Congressman Harley Staggers spoke at the event as it kicked off with a crowd of a 1,000 people watching.
