MADISON (WKOW) -- New estimates from the office of Gov. Tony Evers show a troubling future for many Wisconsinites as a result of the "Big Beautiful Bill."

The Evers administration released estimates showing the potential cost to Wisconsin taxpayers and the impact on health insurance and food assistance.

In a press release on Thursday , Evers said that costs will increase by over $284 million in future budgets, and $142 million per year. Evers also said that it's estimated that 270,000 Wisconsinites may lose their health insurance.

This comes after the Wisconsin Department of Health Services released an initial analysis of the "Big Beautiful Bill" that was passed into law on July 4.
