VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) -- A woman was arrested on Wednesday after a shooting on South Lynnhaven Road, police said.

According to officials, just before 4 a.m. on Aug. 23, officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of South Lynnhaven Road for reports of a gunshot wound. Shortly after the call, a man walked into a local hospital with a gunshot wound.

Following an investigation, officers were able to link the walk-in gunshot wound victim with the shooting on South Lynnhaven Road.

Several days later, on Aug. 27, officers arrested 32-year-old Jasmine Hockaday in connection with the incident. She was then charged with aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm and shooting in an occupied dwelling.

The shooting is currently being investigated by the VBPD Detective Bureau.
