A Northampton County woman is now facing a homicide charge in connection with a methamphetamine-fueled attack that led to a Carbon County man’s death, authorities say.

Ashley Nicole Self, 32, of Walnutport on Aug. 11 initially was charged with misdemeanor involuntary manslaughter and misdemeanor simple assault. Those charges have since been withdrawn and Self now faces the felony homicide charge, as well as a misdemeanor reckless endangerment charge.

Self on Aug. 20 was arraigned on the new charges before District Judge Eric M. Schrantz, who denied bail. She remains incarcerated at the Carbon County jail.
