CLEVELAND — Cleveland State University has announced that it will begin negotiations with the United Soccer League and USL Cleveland to develop a multipurpose stadium on the current site of the Wolstein Center.
The announcement comes after Cleveland State solicited proposals from the community to redevelop the Wolstein Center earlier this year.
In a release, Cleveland State explained that the USL Cleveland proposal "envisions a vibrant, mixed-use district anchored by a sustainable, multipurpose, open-air stadium that could host men’s and women’s professional soccer, amateur sporting events, concerts, festivals, commencement ceremonies, and community gatherings that drive year-round activity and tourism."
