(WHTM) - The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has released digital trail data resources mapping more than 1,750 miles of state park trails for hikers and visitors.

Hikers can now view the trail's difficulty, loop or out-and-back design, and notable features at all 124 state parks.

The information is publicly available through the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources' Open Data Portal and the Interactive Map.

The data was compiled through physical surveying using GPS equipment and a custom-built mobile data collection app.
