CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — Cedar Falls Public Safety personnel responded to South Prairie Lake on August 28 after a report of a car partially submerged in the water.
A citizen alerted authorities at approximately 6:30 a.m. about a person inside the vehicle. Upon arriving at the scene, public safety personnel found the car on the north side of the lake, near the boat ramp.
The occupant had already left the vehicle and was helped to shore. The driver was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
The car was only partially submerged, with the cabin area half filled with water.
MercyOne Paramedics, Rasmussen Towing, and the Black Hawk County Consolidated Communication Center assisted Cedar Falls Public Safety.
The incident remains under investigation.
