MCDOWELL COUNTY, WV (WVNS) -- Two men were sentenced and a third pleaded guilty to plans to use drones to transport contraband into FCI McDowell.

According to a press release from the United States Department of Justice, 32-year-old Hector Luis Gomez DeJesus, of Sanford, North Carolina, and 37-year-old Raymond Luis Saez Aviles, of Poinciana, Florida, were each sentenced on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 to three years of parole, including two months on home detention, for aiding and abetting the introduction of contraband into a federal prison.

Also on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, 26-year-old Arturo Joel Gallegos, of Chicago, Illinois, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to introduce or attempt to introduce contraband into a federal prison, according to the release.
