SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Springfield metropolitan area is being recognized as one of the top destinations for the food manufacturing industry in the United States, according to the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce.

Global Location Strategies (GLS) -- an internationally recognized location strategy firm -- recently released its 2025 Best Places for Food Manufacturing Report. In that report, Springfield ranked among the top 25 food manufacturing hubs out of 387 metro areas in the United States, rising 31 spots from last year's report, the Chamber of Commerce said in a news release.

The Springfield area was also in the top five in the West North Central region, which includes Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
