The benches were cleared last week during the Blue Jays vs. Pirates game. However, Acuna’s incident sparked strong reactions from one Marlins announcer, who was disappointed with his reaction.
The incident happened at the top of the third inning, when Matt Olson launched a two-run homer, immediately putting the Braves ahead 3-0. On the very next pitch, Marlins pitcher Ryan Gusto hit Ronald Acuna on the elbow with a 93-mph sinker. Although benches cleared, no physical altercations occurred, and no ejections were issued.
