A convicted conman who worked as an adviser to a West Lothian football club has lost an employment tribunal after accusations of “illegal conduct”.
Gordon Beurskens, a fraudster jailed for embezzling an elderly couple’s life savings, claimed he was forced to resign by the West Lothian outfit for whistleblowing on “unlawful payments to players, false accounting and insolvent trading”, reports The Record.
Livingston FC blasted their former “general counsel” Beurskens, calling him “aggressive, intemperate and bullying”.
In tribunal papers, Livingston bosses claimed Beurskens “advantaged himself” through his role at the club by attempting to take control of shares equating to a third of ownership of the LFC holding company.
