One lane of the White River Bridge could be open to traffic in a few weeks.

A temporary fix is underway that would allow one lane of alternating traffic on the bridge by mid to late September. The state plans to make and install five temporary braces for the damaged sections of the support beams.

Traffic would be controlled by signals at either end of the bridge. It has been closed for more than a week after an over-height truck hit and damaged the structure.
