SALEM, Ore. — Salem Police officers had a busy night on Tuesday, after two fatal shooting incidents were reported within an hour of each other. Both victims had multiple gunshot wounds.

Two Salem Fatal Shootings In One Night Under Investigation

Police are investigating two separate overnight fatal shootings related to incidents that occurred overnight, which are now two separate homicide cases.

Responding to a report of a collision in the area of 40th PL and Carson DR SE. Salem, after a caller reported a crash and found a person in the roadway at about 12:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of 40th PL SE, police found an adult male with multiple gunshot wounds, later identified as 30-year-old Nicholas Micheal MacFawn. He was transported to Salem Health but was later pronounced deceased.
