PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The BAT Mobile (breath alcohol testing) will be out in two Rhode Island cities and towns Labor Day weekend for DUI enforcement.

According to the Rhode Island Police Chiefs Association, the vehicle will be stationed in RI on Friday and Saturday.

The BAT Mobile will be at Park Square on the Woonsocket/North Smithfield line from 8 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.

Woonsocket, North Smithfield and Rhode Island State Police (RISP) personnel will coordinate Friday’s operation of the BAT Mobile.

“We want everyone to enjoy the holiday weekend, but never at the expense of safety,” said Chief Thomas F. Oates, III, President of the Rhode Island Police Chiefs Association and Chief of Police for the City of Woonsocket.

“Our message is simple: Drive sober or don’t drive at all.”
