CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY, N.Y. — The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation announced Thursday that Bemus Point State Boat Launch and Fishing Access Site in Chautauqua lake will be temporarily closed for site improvements and to replace the launch ramp.
The Department of Environmental Conservation says the site will be closed to public access from Sep. 2 until the end of November.
Improvements to the site include replacing the concrete boat launch, new boat docks, a floating kayak launch, and replacing the concrete seawall with stone rip rap and a vegetated shoreline. American with Disabilities Act-compliant features will also be added to the site including accessible parking space near the boat launch, improved sidewalks, and motion-sensor, solar-powered lights to the launch a
