EAST BERLIN, Pa. — A discovery made in a 2003 Volkswagen Beetle in Adams County has gone viral on social media and brought a woman closer to a long-awaited reunion.
Tricia Rosado of East Berlin collects Volkswagens, and bought the 2003 Beetle convertible at a veteran’s auction in Philadelphia earlier in August.
She and her husband originally planned to use it for parts after discovering it was in rough shape and had been sitting unused for five years.
While cleaning the car, Rosado found a letter tucked under the sun visor from the car’s previous owner to the car itself, with the envelope reading “farewell my love bug.”
“Hoping you're feeling better each day and you'll soon be up and on your way,” the letter reads in part. “Thank you for keeping me safe, for all the joy and fun we had.
