CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - A Jackson man is accused of punching a woman while they were in a vehicle in downtown Cape Girardeau.

Gary Dudley, Jr., 45, was charged with felony third-degree domestic assault.

He is currently being held on a $20,000 cash surety bond.

According to Cape Girardeau police, at around 11:30 a.m. on August 27, the victim reported being assaulted by Dudley.

The victim told officers it happened in a vehicle in the 2800 block of Themis.

Dudley allegedly hit her multiple times with his fist and then ordered her out of the vehicle.

Officers found Dudley and his vehicle near the intersection of Good Hope Street and Sheridan Drive, where he was taken into custody.
