LANSING, MI -- Following a similar recall earlier this month, Michigan regulators are again yanking products found to contain a banned ingredient from store shelves.
The Cannabis Regulatory Agency on Wednesday, Aug. 2, recalled 5,765 vape cartridges produced by Ann Arbor-based Exclusive Brands that were sold under the brand name Kushy Punch between Jan. 23 and May 12, some of which were found to contain medium-chain triglyceride oil, known as MCT oil.
MCT oil is a type of fat often used in processed foods and naturally occurring in coconut and palm kernel oil. Thought to be benign due to its widespread use in food, some cannabis manufacturers have mixed it with THC extracts to create vaping products.
