ATLANTA — The Atlanta BeltLine says it has purchased six pieces of property in Buckhead, with an eye on developing it for affordable housing and commercial space-- and expanding its walking and biking trail.

"So I’m just going to start here," said Cystal Milligan, who aimed to walk two miles at midday on a lightly-used stretch of the Atlanta BeltLine on the west side of Buckhead – a place cut off from much of the rest of the Beltline.

"I just do the two mile loop here. So I start here and I end here and I come back out," she said, eyeing a loop alongside Bobby Jones Golf Course. She says she would like to see it get better connected to the rest of the city’s signature walking trail, and officials say that’s now a step closer.
