ASHEVILLE, N.C. — An Asheville man who previously won $2 million has claimed another big prize, taking home $1 million from a North Carolina scratch-off ticket , the North Carolina Education Lottery said.

Bobby White claimed the prize after buying a $30 MAX-A-MILLION ticket at the Red Dot on N.C. 213 in Mars Hill.

White previously won $2 million in November 2021 on a Premier Cash ticket.

Lottery officials said he had the choice of receiving $50,000 a year for 20 years or a lump sum of $600,000. He chose the lump sum, taking home $430,503 after required taxes.

The MAX-A-MILLION game launched in March with 25 $1 million prizes and 10 $100,000 prizes. Lottery officials said 19 $1 million prizes and nine $100,000 prizes remain.
