A full investigation will be launched by Edinburgh City Council after a man was found dead in a toilet at Edinburgh's City Chambers, almost a week after he was reported missing .
Tragic Sean Stephen, 38, was discovered on July 7 inside the customer support hub at the historic building in the capital .
He had disappeared six days earlier, sparking mounting concern among his loved ones.
The grim discovery was made by cleaning staff who had believed the toilet door was locked because it was out of order.
When it was eventually opened, Mr Stephen’s body was found in what sources described as an "advanced stage of decomposition."
It is understood security staff were supposed to carry out daily checks to ensure toilets were empty before locking up each night.
