UPDATE: After being confirmed by the Chattanooga City Council, veteran firefighter Terry Knowles is expected to be sworn into his new role as Chief of the Chattanooga Fire Department Thursday.

Chattanooga officials are gathering at the Walker Theater at 2:00pm for the ceremony.

Residents are invited to RSVP to the event online.

"It is an honor to witness this vital step for our city and its dedicated fire department," stated Mayor Tim Kelly in a Facebook post previewing the event.
