ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A Rockford man has pleaded guilty to carjacking a man and his son at the Nicholas Conservatory in 2024.

On August 17th, 2024, around 5:45 p.m., Rockford Park District Police were called to the Sinnissippi Recreation Path near the Nicholas Conservatory, where they met with the victim and his 16-year-old son.

The victim told officers that he was approached by two men and held up at gunpoint. The thieves took his wallet, cellphone, and car keys, and then stole his car, according to Winnebago County State's Attorney J. Hanley.

The car was found later that day near Mulberry Street and Oakley Avenue.
