Many new stars have joined the cast of Star Wars: Starfighter as production on the movie kicks off. The upcoming Star Wars: Starfighter is a standalone installment in the iconic science fiction franchise that is being directed by Deadpool & Wolverine 's Shawn Levy and set to take place five years after the events of 2019's The Rise of Skywalker .

The movie, which is set to be the next Star Wars installment in theaters after 2026's The Mandalorian and Grogu , will star Ryan Gosling. It was also previously revealed that Matt Smith ( Doctor Who , House of the Dragon ) and Mia Goth ( X , Pearl , MaXXXine ) will be playing two antagonists in the movie.
