SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - A man has been arrested after reportedly shooting at a Shreveport officer on Thursday, Aug. 27.

Officers responded to a call at 9:50 p.m. about a suspicious person inside someone’s apartment in the 100 block of Southfield Road.

SPD began searching the area and found a man standing on a sidewalk. When the officer pointed his flashlight at him, the man reportedly fired a single shot towards the officer. The officer immediately took cover and was not injured.

Officials identified the shooter, Glenn Garrett, to be the man who originally called 911. He told SPD he thought someone was in his apartment, called police, then armed himself and waited outside.

Garrett reportedly admitted that he fired his weapon when he saw someone round the corner.
