The Detroit Lions have one open spot on their 53-man roster with a little over a week to go until their regular season opener, and general manager Brad Holmes said this won't be the last time he takes that approach with his roster.
"It gives us some good flexibility," Holmes said in his annual preseason news conference Thursday in Allen Park. "We cut it down to 50 this year, I thought it was awesome. I loved it. I don’t think it’ll be the last time that you’ll see that.”
