QUINCY — A Quincy man facing charges following an Aug. 16 shooting incident near 18th and Broadway pleaded not guilty Wednesday in an Adams County courtroom.

Jorge Aguilar, 18, faces six charges following his arrest. Represented by attorney Nicholas Rober, Aguilar entered his plea before Judge Holly Henze set the case on the November trial docket.

According to the charging information, Aguilar and another Quincy man, Chance Clevenger, were at a local bar when Aguilar was asked to put away a firearm he was reportedly displaying. Witnesses said in response, Aguilar brandished the weapon and allegedly cycled the gun before firing a shot directed up.
