SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — A San Angelo man was booked into Tom Green County Jail on Aug. 27 for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, child endangerment and evading arrest.

22-year-old Mathew Sanders is believed to have intentionally and knowingly used or exhibited a deadly weapon against a mother, according to the criminal complaint for Sanders' arrest.

On Aug. 23, 2025, San Angelo Police Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Clover Drive in reference to this investigation. The investigator spoke with Officer Sgt. Austin Covey and learned that a juvenile female was attempting to leave the residence with Sanders. Covey advised that the defendant struck the victim with his vehicle and fled the scene.
