LEEDS, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Leeds Police Chief Paul Irwin is clearing up some confusion over a Facebook post that happened Thursday morning, Aug. 28.

Irwin says another agency was looking for someone in Leeds after that person ran away from the agency on foot.

An officer with access to the Leeds Police Department’s Facebook page posted there was a manhunt. Irwin says that is not how they define a manhunt because the agency was going to interview the person and they did not have any charges except fleeing.

Irwin added they will only be doing a manhunt when there is someone who poses a danger to the public or has felony warrants. The person of interest does not have a violent criminal record and does not pose danger to the community.
