FRANKFORT, Ky. — Flags at all state office buildings will be lowered to half-staff until sunset on Sunday, Aug. 31, in remembrance of the victims of the Aug. 27 Minneapolis mass shooting , according to the Office of Gov. Andy Beshear, D-Ky.

This is in accordance with a proclamation from the White House, Beshear's office said.

A shooter opened fire through the windows of a Catholic church Wednesday, striking children celebrating Mass during the first week of school. Two children ages 8 and 10 died while 17 others were hurt. The shooter then died by suicide, said Minneapolis' police chief.
