If you're looking to be a hero to an animal in need, or hoping to find your next four-legged sidekick, then the Burlington County Animal Shelter's clear the shelter event Aug. 30 should be on your radar.

This year, the community-centered celebrations are superhero themed, with the latest Superman movie (which features a super dog named Krypto) playing on screens across the shelter. Hero-themed activities and games are to be at the ready for younger visitors.

“You don’t need to be Superman or Wonder Woman to become a hero to the many dogs and cats at the shelter,” Burlington County Commissioner Tyler Burrell, liaison to the animal shelter, said in a press release. “You just need to open your heart and help them find a loving home and family."
