The family of a man killed by a hit-and-run driver is appealing for the person responsible to come forward.
Buddy Rhodes was struck at Exit 286 on the Coquihalla Highway at Merritt in August 2024. That’s the intersection where the Coquihalla meets the Okanagan Connector.
“Buddy was funny, he was kind, he had the biggest smile. He lit up every room he walked into with all his energy,” his sister, Alix Legouffe, said in a video released by the BC Highway Patrol on the one-year anniversary of Rhodes’ death. ‘
“I miss everything about him. It would bring some closure to our family to actually know what happened, or when it happened. All these unknowns is what makes it really hard to move forward,” Legouffe said.
